Plain American satin is a silky and durable material made of thin, tightly twisted threads. The front side has a smooth, uniform surface with a noble sheen, the wrong side is matte, pleasant to the touch, and has a visually noticeable weave structure.

It is slightly thinner than rolled satin, more delicate. American satin is used for sewing wedding and evening dresses.
