SILICONE TAPE FOR SEAM REINFORCEMENT

Silicone tape is a soft, elastic, thin transparent band made of 100% silicone. It does not require pre-treatment before use. It is deformed by contact with a hot iron, so the product should be ironed using an ironing iron at a low temperature (not higher than 110°C).

Silicone braid is used for: 

- stabilization of oblique cuts of products; 

- creating "quick" small gathers, which are formed after the tape, stretched during sewing, returns to its original position; 

- to fix the edge of lace or fine mesh; 

- to seal seams when sewing biflex swimwear.

Silicone is a material that is sensitive to needle punctures. The more perforations there are in the tape, the less durable it will become. Therefore, in the sewing process, the thin braid should be laid in such a way that it completely falls under the overlock stitch.
