Dublerine
Dublerin is a versatile item in sewing. It is a thick double-layer material that is used to stiffen different garment elements to maintain a certain shape. When the clothes are worn intensively and washed regularly, the details worked in dublerine will not be deformed.
It is a fine tufted backing with a one-sided adhesive impregnation in the form of a scattering of uniformly distributed convex shiny dots. The latter is made from thermoplastic adhesive compositions (copolyamides, copolyethers, high/low pressure polyethylene). Co-polyamide coatings are the best: due to good adhesion to most textile fibres, they are resistant to washing and dry-cleaning. The surface is tufted, so that the glue does not spoil the look of the finished product, and appliquéd to minimize shrinkage.
With dublerine a wedding dress gets volume, shape, wear resistance, much less creases. The entire article can be duplicated, or you can use fragments of it. Almost all fabrics can be duplicated, and the type of adhesive pad is chosen individually, depending on the purpose and characteristics of the main material. Before gluing, both fabrics, if they contain natural fibres, are decanted (soaked in warm water for 1-1,5 hours, allowed to drain, naturally dried). After that, you can say with confidence that the product will not shrink in the finished form, will not wrinkle. To make the doublerin fasten tightly to the base material, the glued surfaces are moistened and ironed with an iron on a high-temperature setting through the ironing unit.
